Out With The Old and In With The New

Wow, can you believe it, today is the final day to place orders from the 2015-2016 annual catalog and the Occasions catalogs! Tomorrow morning the new and oh so fantastic new 2016-2017 annual catalog goes live! Trust me when I tell you, I can barely contain my excitement! This catalog goes way beyond fantastic! However, if there is anything on the retirement list that you really want, today's your last chance. Lots has sold out, but there is still a lot of great things left so feel free to check it out before it's gone forever in less than 24 hours!
Ok, now for today's card. I can finally share it with you. I had to keep it under wraps until after I gave it to my dad for his birthday and I didn't want him to stop by here and see it before he received it, so now it's in his hot hands and now I can share it with all of you. This comes from my oh so favorite new set, Swirly Bird stamp set! I can not believe how versatile this stamp set is and of course I adore the coordinating Thinlits as well....waves are compliments of the Thinlits!

The sentiment comes from the stamp set Thoughtful Banners. I totally love this set as well because you create sooo many sentiments, its almost endless the combination of words you can put together to create just the right sentiment. The colors I used are Mint Macaron, Night of Navy and for the "sun" Delightful Dijon, the boat is Tip Top Taupe and the flag is Real Red. I hope you enjoy this card, I think dad did. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. I hope you all have a great day and happy stamping.

Having some Fun with Retiring Goodies

Hey there! Have you had a chance to take in the retiring product list? If so, have you been able to absorb it all? I know, it’s a lot to take in. It’s also sad to see so many go to favorites leaving, but, let me just say, I have had the opportunity to see the new catalog (one of the MANY benefits of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator) and there are SOOOOOO many new and wonderful things coming! So, my point, don’t be sad. Get what you want now before it’s gone, but rest assured, there will be LOTS of great stamps and embellishments that are so awesome, you won’t even remember the stuff that is missing! I promise you that.
Anyoo, today, I wanted to share a card I made for the sketch challenge taking place over on my Facebook page. I used one of my go to retiring stamp sets and lots of retiring product for this card and I am really pleased with the outcome. So, what do you think? Leave me a comment below and let me know what your thoughts are.

Supplies:
Summer Silhouettes Stamp set
Basic Black Card Base 8.5” x 5.5” scored at 4.25”
Botanical Garden DSP 5.25” x 4”
Basic Black layers 2.5” x 3.75”, 4.25” x 2.25”and 4.5” x 2.5”
Hello Honey 2.25” x 3.5”
Very Vanilla 4” x 2” and 4.25” x 2.25”
Cajun Craze .5” x 2.25”
3 Cajun Craze Candy Dots from the Regals collection
Ink Pads: Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron, Hello Honey, Basic Black Archival
Snail Adhesive
To begin, I layered the DSP onto the card base and added the Hello Honey to the Basic Black layer and adhered that to the front of the card. I then stamped the lattice design onto the 4” x 2” Very Vanilla piece using the Cajun Craze ink and adhered that to the Basic Black layer and added that to the card base. I then stamped the foliage stamp using the Mossy Meadow ink twice and added flowers using the Hello Honey and Mint Macaron ink. The sentiment is NOT a Stampin’ Up! Stamp. It actually comes from a Stamps of Life stamp set by Stephanie Barnard and I stamped that using the Basic Black Archival ink and layered that onto the Basic Black layering piece and adhered that panel to the card base and added the small strip of Cajun Craze just to pop on the card. As a final step, I added three candy dots.
If you would like to see the sketch used to inspire this card, please join us on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/snsfromtheheartWe are having lots of fun over there and we would love to have you join us. Whether you choose to join the sketch or not, we would love to have you stop by and say hello, and if you do want to join the challenges, just jump right in. We have a no judgement zone and all of the ladies are extremely encouraging and supportive. We learn from one another and we just have a great time. So come on by and take a look around!
Now, back to the retiring list. As you know, the retiring list of items are “while supplies last”, only stamps will be manufactured until May 23rd. After that date, once they’re gone, they’re gone too. I don’t want you to miss out on anything you really have your heart set on, so I want you to know, these things will sell out quickly, so if you want it, I advise getting it sooner rather than later. In addition, I have set up a hostess code for you to use should you choose to place an order. By using this hostess code, if all combined orders total $150 or more, it will qualify as a “party" and will be eligible for Hostess Benefits. If that is the case, I will put EVERYONE that places an order using that code into a drawing to receive those benefits when I close the party. If you happen to be the winner, I will contact you to select your FREE product. It could be $15 or more in product depending on the final sales. I will close the party out on 5/5/16, so good luck and happy stamping!
Hostess Code: T9Q4A39S

A Fast and Easy Thank You

Here is a card that I made that turned out to be a pleasant surprise for me. It happens to be a card that I did for the sketch challenge that is going on over on my Facebook page. (If you haven’t stopped by to check it out, you really should, we are having lots of fun over there) Anyway, after I had posted the sketch, and I sat down to look at it, I completely went blank! Literally, I had NO idea on what I was going to make to fit this sketch. So, I started by grabbing some scrap DSP I had lying on my desk and from that point forward my card was born. It falls into the category of quick and simple and who doesn’t love a card that’s quick and simple, right? So, here it is:

Supplies needed:

Birthday Bouquet DSP 4 5/8” x 2½” and 5½” x 1¼”
Whisper White Cardstock 8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼” and scrap large enough to punch a 2½” circle
Mint Macaron Cardstock 5½” x 3/8”
Mint Macaron Ink pad
3 pink buttons from the Subtles Buttons collection
2 ½” Circle punch
Hostess Stamp set: A Whole Lot of Lovely
Snail adhesive
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Glue Dots
Rhinestones

Begin by adhering the DSP cut at 4 5/8” x 2” to the upper portion of the card base using Snail adhesive, then add the Mint Macaron strip followed by the remaining DSP (I used the same “piece” of DSP and just flipped it to use the other pattern) I then stamped the Thank You from the stamp set using Mint Macaron ink onto the scrap Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the 2½” circle punch and popped it up on Dimensionals and added it to the card. I then secured the 3 pink buttons using Glue dots. And that completed this card. Fast, easy and really packs a punch!

What do you think? Please leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts. And thank you so much for stopping by to take a look around.

Happy Stamping,

Katrina

Happy Spring and Happy Birthday #imbringingbirthdaysback

Hello and Happy March 1st! One more day closer to Spring! I don’t know about you, but Spring is probably my most favorite season of all! Everything is so fresh, clean and new again. I love it.

Anyhoo, I want to let you know that I have decided to participate in the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement, started by Stampin’ Up!’s ® own Shannon West. I want to share in making YOUR birthday something special, so that is what inspired today’s card share and I would LOVE to send you a birthday card on your birthday, you just need to send me your name and address along with your birthday, using the “contact me” up above on the navigation bar and I will personally mail you a birthday card on your birthday!

For today’s card, I used Mint Macaron cut 8 ½” x 5 ½” scored and folded at 4 ¼” for the card base. I then cut a piece of DSP from the “Itsmy Party” DSP pack, 5 ¼” x 4” and adhered it to the card base. I then cut another piece of Mint Macaron 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” and a piece of Mellon Mambo 3” x 4” and I embossed the Mellon Mambo piece with the Lucky Stars TIEF and adhered that to the Mint Macaron piece. I then took a piece of CrushedCurry and cut that to 3 ½” x 1 ½” and adhered that side ways across the card. I then cut another layering piece of MintMacaron 1 ¾” x 3 ½” and a piece of WhisperWhite 1 ½” x 3 ¼” and stamped the balloon strings from the stamp set, Balloon Celebration using Memento Tuxedo Black™ ink added a stamped Mellon Mambo ribbon (also in the stamp set) and adhered it to the layering piece of Mint Macaron. I adhered that down to the card base. I then stamped one of the large balloon shapes onto scrap CrushedCurry and stamped the inside with CrushedCurry ink using the “spatter” stamp in the set for a tone on tone effect. I then stamped and punched a small balloon from the same Crushed Curry cardstock and 2 each of Mellon Mambo and Mint Macaron all also with the same tone on tone. I then adhered them to the balloon strings using Stampin’Dimensionals ™.  As a final touch, I stamped Happy Birthday onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut ½” x 3” and I bannered the one end and placed that with Dimensionals also.
So, what are your thoughts? Let me know below in the comments. I look forward to hearing what you think. In the meantime, Happy Stamping and have a great day, til next time,

Katrina

Stippled Masking

Hello!
I hope everyone is staying warm in this deep freeze we're having! Good grief, today was the coldest day of the year so far, and I really hope it remains the coldest day of the year. -20 wind chill today and I think I about froze myself when I went out for a bit to meet up with some friends for a fun afternoon of painting. Which brings me to the conclusion that I need to stick with stamping! lol What do you think?
My master piece lol I will say it was a lot of fun and I will suggest that if you ever get the opportunity to do something like this, go ahead and try it. You can just have fun with it and be prepared to laugh at yourself. well at least that's what I did. I own the fact that I'm a stamper, not a painter!

Anyhoo, I have a tutorial to share with you and I made my very first video tutorial EVER! Making the video, not too bad, editing the video, I have lots to learn! I hope I don't bore you too much, but this card did turn out pretty cute. I hope you like it. It uses the soon to be retired Sky is the Limit stamp set. This is a sale-a-bration stamp set that goes away Tuesday 2/16! Not to worry, Stampin' Up! has some great replacements for it, however, you won't want to miss out on this one. Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think of today's card and the video tutorial and thanks so much for stopping by and watching.
Have a great day!
