So In Love

Well happy Thursday everyone. Another snowy day here in CNY...I think we're trying to set a record? I read somewhere just the other day, that Redfield,NY which is the next town over about 10 mile away has had over 350" already this year and counting and sadly we're not too far behind. The article also stated that this area here on the Tug Hill has more snow than Alaska and we are currently holding the award for snowiest region in the USA! Yuk...who wants to be noted for that? Apparently, there is only one other city/town that gives this area a run for their money in the snow department and it was a city/town in Michigan near Lake Superior, but currently, this winter we are ahead of them! Needless to say, I would be more than glad to send then the snow so they can win!

Anyhoo, on a positive note, all this snow sure does make for productivity in the craft room. And today's card I made for my mom and dad for their 48th wedding anniversary. I know right? It's pretty amazing to say the least today. Unfortunately, so many don't make it that long in their relationships. I am very fortunate that my parents live by example and it is them that I model my own marriage of which I am proud to say we celebrated 23 years in December...Not bad eh? Well, here is the card that I made for mom and dad:
Supplies:
Stamps: So In Love
Paper: Crumb Cake 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scrap large enough to fit the die; Falling in Love DSP 5 1/4" x 4"
Ink: Basic Black Archival Ink
Misc: So Detailed Thinlits; Big Shot; Basic Pearls; Fast Fuse Adhesive

Directions:
Run the scrap Crumb Cake cardstock through the Big Shot and stamp the sentiment in the center. Add 3 tiny pearls and score the right end of the die cut piece. Layer the DSP onto the card base using Fast Fuse and apply adhesive onto the center of the die cut and on the right "end piece" and adhere to the center of the card.

A very simple card that packs a lot of elegant punch. The Detailed thinlits will make any card look intricate and amazing. I hope you enjoyed today's card. Please let me know your thoughts and leave a comment below. I love hearing what you think.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Big On Birthdays

Happy Saturday! Wow, it sure is brutally cold! We are into a deep freeze here in NYS but we're supposed to warm up this weekend. Current temps are those we usually see at the end of January, early February. Brrrr! Any way, I have another sneak peak into the new catalog for you. It's the brand new stamp set, Big on Birthdays. This set is awesome. The stamps are larger than life! Really, the stamp that I uses on this cars is the size of the palm of my hand!
I actually made this card for my best friend's birthday. She happens to be 2 days older than me. We met in nursing school many years ago and we have remained the best of friends ever since. I love her dearly and plan to get this out in the mail right off so she gets it in time. So, for the instructions on this one:
I began with a Soft Suede card base cute 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"
I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" and ran it through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder
I then ran a piece of Very Vanilla through the Big Shot with the "So Detailed" Thinlit.
Finally, using the marker technique, I inked up the stamp, I uses Flirty Flamingo on the flowers from the 2016-2018 In-Color Stampin' Write Markers, Mint Macaron from the 2015-2017 In-Color Stampin' Write Markers and the Happy Birthday with the Soft Suede marker from the Neutral collection. I cut that piece down to 2 1/8" x 41/4" and punched the corners using a retired corner punch. Finally, I adhered everything down to the front of the card.I just love the new die and this stamp set is a must have.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment below. And, if you haven't already, be sure to sign up for my newsletter.
