More Colorful Seasons - Joseph's Coat for Winter

Hi there and Happy Saturday! Can you believe it's September already? Where did this summer go? I think I must have missed something because it seems it just started and it's already all over. Good thing I love Fall too, I'm just not a big fan of Winter, except I do love stamped Winters!

I've been having so much fun playing the the Joseph's Coat technique, and from the looks of all the amazing projects being posted over on my FB page, so are you! It really is a fun technique that packs a really big punch and WOW! And this time did't disappoint either. This time around, I decided to play with the snowflakes in this same stamp set, Colorful Seasons. This stamp set is one of my top picks from the Annual catalog because it will carry you through every season. So, if you're stamping on a budget, you will get a lot of bang for your stamping buck with this set.

Supplies for this card are listed and linked below. The card base is Night of Navy, cut 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.25"; the Balmy Blue is cut 5.25" x 4" and the Whisper White is cut 5" x 3.75" and sponged with Balmy Blue ink, Pool Party ink and Night of Navy ink.

I then prepped the piece with the Embossing Buddy and randomly stamped the 2 snowflake images with the Versamark ink and embossed with the clear embossing powder. I then used the sponge Brayer and coated the entire piece with Night of Navy ink and watched the snowflakes emerge beautifully! I then stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy on the Balmy Blue and cut it out using the Stitched Labels Framelits and attached it to the card front using the Whisper White 1/8" Sheer ribbon.

I so glad you have been enjoying the Joseph's Coat technique. I hope you continue to play around with it and experiment with other colors. Be sure to share, I LOVE seeing your results.

Colorful Seasons Wears Joseph's Coat

Hey there and Happy Tuesday! I pray you're having an amazing day! I was up at 2 AM compliments of one very adorable Shorkie and a dandy thunder storm.....good thing he's as adorable as he is that's for sure, I mean, yes, I do get up at 4 AM normally, but 2 AM is really pushing it, but the poor little guy was petrified, shivering and shaking and slapping me like I some how had control over it.

Ok, enough about that! Today, I have a fun card to share with you using the very cool Joseph's Coat technique. I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set and some fun colors including the brand new Mango Melody. I LOVE this color and it pairs really well with the Bermuda Bay and Mossy Meadow.

To create this card, I started with a standard card base of Early Espresso measuring 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.25" and a piece of Mango Melody measuring 5.25" x 4" and a Whisper White panel that measured 5" x 3.75". I then sponged onto the Whisper White, Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay and Mossy Meadow ink using Stampin' Sponges, taking care not to leave any white space.

I then prepped the panel with my Embossing Buddy, which is a powder filled "pillow" that removes any static, oils from your fingers etc. to ensure a good embossing surface. Once I was sure my panel was well prepared. I randomly stamped the leaves around the panel. I then coated the panel in clear Stampin' Emboss powder and heated it with my Stampin' Heat Tool. Once that step was complete, I used Early Espresso ink with my sponge brayer and layered the ink over the entire piece ensuring it was completely covered....this is where the magic happens! As you are layering the dark ink over your panel, the stamped and embossed images literally jump off the cardstock. The colors pop and become so vibrant. It really is amazing and produces a lot of WOW!

Now, go ahead and try it! I would LOVE to see your results! If you try this, be sure to stop by my FB page and post a photo sharing your results.

Have a great day and Happy Stamping,

Colorful Seasons for Fall

Good morning and Happy Thursday! It really is beginning to look a lot like Fall around here so I thought today I would share with you a quick and very easy card with you that uses very few of your stamping resources, yet packs a whole lot of PUNCH!

Supplies:

Stamps:

Colorful Seasons

Paper:

Whisper White

Ink:

Pumpkin Pie
Cajun Craze
Chocolate Chip

Tools/Embellishments:

Clear Wink of Stella
Jute Twine
Seasonal Layers Thinlits
Stampin' Sponges
Glue Dots
Fast Fuse
Post-It Notes for mask

Directions:

Begin with a half sheet of Whisper White Cardstock folded in half (8 .5" x 5.5") and mask off the left side of the front panel of the card base protecting the back of the cardbase and the right front leaving an area of approximately 2" of white space (this really isn't important, leave open what you think will look good for your taste). Once masks are in place, using a piece of Stampin' Sponge, swirl on Pumpkin Pie ink, begin swirling color onto the mask working your way onto the cardbase, this will prevent the color from being applied to heavy handed (it's far easier to add color than it is to take it away), then using the same technique, add Cajun Craze followed by a little of the Chocolate Chip. Go easy on the Chocolate Chip, you just want a little to accent the piece. Go ahead and add a little more Pumpkin Pie and remove the mask.
Using the left over Whisper White, stamp 3 solid leaves using the "Rock n Roll" technique. To do this, pick up Pumpkin Pie ink with the solid stamp, then carefully "roll" the edges of the stamp over the Cajun Craze ink and stamp onto the cardstock. Do this for a total of 3 leaves. Then, using the leaf image with veins, stamp over the leaves with the Chocolate Chip. Die cut the leaves with the Big Shot and coat with Clear Wink of Stella. Apply to card front with Fast Fuse, tie a bow with the Jute Twine and add to card over leaf stems with a glue dot.

I hope you enjoy this card and give it a try for yourself. It's quick and it's simple and it really packs some wow! To purchase the products used in this card, just use the links below. Thank you for taking the time to hang out with me for a few.
Happy Stamping!

Colorful Seasons - Thinking of You

Good Morning and happy Tuesday! Wow, can you believe June is almost over? It seems like it has just begun but here we are, in the final week! Anyway, I know for many of you, it has been pretty busy with graduations and graduation parties to attend. This year, I have only one so far, although, I'm sure there will be more grad parties to come.
Today, I want to share with you a cute card I put together using the Colorful Seasons Bundle. I love this bundle because it can be used all year round and has some really amazing images. And I just adore the Adirondack style chair thinlit! (Yes, I have a pair of the real thing sitting on my front porch!)

Directions:

To create this card, I used the Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut 4.25" x 11" scored and folded at 5.5". I stamped the sentiment in Dapper Denim ink at the bottom of a piece of Whisper White cut 4" x 5.25" and adhered a piece of the Color Theory paper trimmed 1" x 4" (I just trimmed off a strip from the Ombre Berry Burst piece using the lightest shade). I then cut a piece from the Dapper Denim "crackle" piece 2.25" x 3.25" and adhered that at an angle. I cut a piece of Berry Burst cardstock 2.25" square and ran it through the Big Shot with the Seaside TIEF and layered it onto the card. I then ran the Adirondack chair Thinlit through the Big Shot with a piece of Dapper Denim and added that to the card front using the mini Stampin' Dimensionals. These are the perfect size to fit in the widest part of the chair arms and legs. To finish the card off, I added 3 shades of the Berry Burst Glitter Enamel Dots, these are self adhesive and add a bit of charm to the card.
(See below for a complete list of supplies used)

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Feel free to leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts; and if you have any questions, please feel free to fire away.
Happy Stamping,
Katrina
